Help us with our legal expenses on
The New Hope Rescue board of directors would like to thank all our loyal rescue heroes for their love and support during the current trial.
Our mission is to help animals in need. The past year has been difficult for us and the outpouring of support we have received from our social media family has humbled us.
Our leader, Joann Roof would like to extend her heart felt appreciation for all of those who have reached out to her. We are happy to say that the verdict was not guilty on the first set of charges. Unfortunately, we have another trial ahead of us. Please keep us in your prayers!!! Thank you for your open hearts and minds. Donations to help with our legal expenses can be made through
Strays
If you found a stray pet:
Take it to a vet to be scaned for a microchip. Most vets are fine with walkins for scanning strays and do not charge.
List the pet as found on Craig's List in the pet and lost and found sections and any local face book lost and found pages Colorado Springs Lost Pets, Lost Dogs Cats and Pets, and comunity pages as well as the Nextdoor website for your comunity. Always withhold some information like color of collar etc or require that a possible owner show you a photo of the animal or vet records to help insure you are not giving the animal to a pet flipper.
Rehoming Your Pet
Most shelters and rescues are full! The safest option for your pet is to try to find a home for it yourself.
If you are rehoming because of behavior problems, check out the Best Friends Resources page for help.
If you cannot afford to feed your pet try Peak Pet Pantry 719-354-0022.
Charging a rehoming fee helps discourage flippers, at least $50 for most dogs and $25 for most cats. Its also helpful if you take the pet to the potential adopter so you can insure that the home is appropriate.
As a last resort we suggest surrendering your pet to the Dumb Friends League Buddy Center in Castle Rock where they do not euthanize for space or length of time. Pikes Peak Humane Society is more likely to euthanize.
